Dr. Steven Hamrick is a native of Florida. He is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Hamrick earned his D.M.D. degree with honors from the University of Florida in 1978. He then practiced general dentistry in Pensacola, Florida for five years. In 1986 he received his postgraduate degree in Periodontics at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and has been in private practice in Raleigh since that time. Since his graduate training, Dr. Hamrick has been an adjunct professor at the UNC School of Dentistry with the Department of Graduate Periodontics and also teaches at the University of Florida, College of Dentistry as a visiting adjunct faculty.
Dr. Hamrick is active in mission work and travels to various countries throughout the year. He has been married to his wife Lynne for 35 years, and they live in Raleigh where they raised their three grown children Chris, Kate and Clay. Clay Hamrick is currently in a 6 year oral surgery residency at the University of Florida. Dr. Hamrick enjoys attending UNC and Hurricanes sporting events, golfing and skiing. He and his wife also enjoy going to the North Carolina coast.
