The “All on 4” technique allows for patients who have lost all their teeth previously in a single arch, or who will lose their teeth, to have 4-5 implants placed in the jawbone in such a way that immediate, temporary teeth are delivered the day of surgery.
In most cases, this allows patients to skip a transitional, removable denture. The benefits of this technique include: less post operative pain, increased function, increased confidence, increased patient satisfaction and reduced emotional stress.
Patients who are missing all of their teeth on the upper, lower or both arches are normally good candidates for dental implants.
Usually, two to six implants per arch can provide adequate structure for your dentist to attach removable or fixed dentures. Implants provide stability and comfort, not always provided by traditional unsupported dentures.
