Multi-Tooth Implants

Drs. Hamrick, McKenzie and Whitley have received extensive training in the treatment and management of dental implants.

Dental implants are titanium posts placed in the jawbone that are used to help replace single or multiple missing teeth. Dental implants are a highly successful and predictable way to replace missing teeth, allowing you to return to the normal function, esthetics, and comfort that you had with your natural teeth. In addition, the implants never decay and are more resilient to infection in the gums because the implants are actually fused to your jawbone in a process called osseointegration.

A multi-tooth implant, also called an implant-supported bridge, is a type of restoration used to replace a section of missing teeth. The process involves the placement of two or more dental implants, followed by the attachment of abutments and a dental bridge. A multiple tooth implant is an ideal way to replace multiple missing teeth and improve the appearance of your smile, function and oral health. Multiple tooth implants are typically more durable than fixed bridges and partial dentures.

Full-arch implants use a series of 4-6 dental implants to restore an entire arch of missing teeth, an alternative to traditional dentures. Your full-arch dentures will snap onto your dental implants, which will hold them tightly in place. This means that full-arch implants and dentures won’t shift when you eat, speak, or chew.

Full-arch implants also stimulate and preserve the bone tissue of your jaw, since each implant places pressure on the jaw bone and keeps it healthy. Dentures don’t do this, which can lead to long-term changes in your appearance.

A consultation appointment will be used to evaluate if you are a candidate for multi-tooth dental implants and to discuss treatment options. Raleigh Periodontics utilizes CAT Scan technology to evaluate your jaw in three dimensions to facilitate treatment planning.

Typically, the dental implants are placed and allowed to heal before you receive your final restoration from your dentist. During the healing phase we can help provide you with a temporary prosthesis. We work closely with your restorative doctor to provide you with an esthetic and functional result.

“When I required a dental implant a few years ago my dentist referred me to Dr. Hamrick. I was completely satisfied with the treatment I received from the team at Raleigh Periodontics, especially when the extent that the procedure to be performed was explained and detailed. I felt completely at ease.”
