Dr. Sides is a native of North Carolina and was raised in New Bern, NC.

He earned his DDS degree from UNC School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. He was also awarded the Drs. Carnevale and Shoulars scholarship based on his academics, excellence in periodontics and character. During his time at UNC, Dr. Sides volunteered at community outreach clinics and graduated with distinction in community service and engagement.

After graduation, Dr. Sides completed an intensive three-year residency in Periodontology in San Antonio, Texas. He received extensive training in dental implants, mucogingival surgery, microsurgery, cosmetic procedures, bone grafting, IV sedation and treatment of periodontitis. He graduated with a Master of Science and Certificate of Advanced Degree in Periodontics. Dr. Sides has passed the written board examination and is in the process of completing board certification.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Sides is a former Academic All-American athlete and remains a devoted fan of the ECU Pirates. He enjoys exploring the outdoors—from the mountains to the coast—with his wife, Eszter, and their family and friends.
